1971 Chapter year, October 1971
1973 First annual all-day training seminar
1975 Host for Region V Fall Conference. Account balance $2,458.89
1976 Chapter invested $1,000 at 6%
1979 Joint dinner with Lansing Toastmasters
1982 Chapter membership doubled
1990 Wrote the first board position descriptions, responsibilities, and budgets
1992 Collaborated with Capital Quality Initiative. Dissolution of Regional structure.
1993 Speaker’s Bureau established. First Committee Retreat Workshop. National ASTD M.A.P. Award for our chapter.
1995 Introducted an improved format of professional development for membership, regionally and nationally
1996 25th Anniversary Celebration
1997 Enhanced image of membership materials for professional appearance
1998 Began revamp of administrative processes (redeveloping bylaws, position descriptions and aligning with national mission) to meet national chapter standards. Notably high membership.
1999 The chapter rededicated itself to growth and thriving in Mid-Michigan. Affiliation with National ASTD to assist with Membership services.
2000 Continued strengthening Board leadership practices, chapter focus on membership growth and the delivery of effective and timely educational programs including the Michigan ASTD Video Conference
2001 More closely aligned with headquarters CORE management plan particularly in the areas of accounting and budgeting, membership and program development along with membershiop surveys and communcation
2003 Chapter Rejuvination: redeveloping bylaws, position descriptions, and program offerings
2004 Added Corporate Membership and Sponsorship. Revised the T3 program. Increased programs from 5 to 8 per year. Added Lifetime Membership.
