Facilitated Learning: The Rules of Engagement

Today’s learners are mega-multitaskers, often texting, tweeting and tending to personal trivialities instead of devotedly hanging onto our every word. In our “option glut” world it takes imagination and innovation to get and hold the attention of our collectively connected participants.

How extensively do you tap into the expertise and experience of your learners for maximum involvement? What is the ratio of your “talking time” to theirs? This session illustrates how Adult Learning Theory is not simply a concept but a concrete, specific skill-based teaching strategy we all need to penetrate preoccupied minds.

From the young and the restless to the senior members who’ve seen it all, when you redistribute the responsibility of learning instead of trying to “teach” the indifferent, inattentive, or uncommitted, you’ve done your job, and more!

Intended Audience

In-house or independent trainers, topic experts who are expected to share their expertise, managers, focus group leaders, facilitators, and consultants whose function involves group process.
