Member Spotlight on Carol Grainger

Carol joined the Board as Chair of the Program Committee in 1998. She took on the office of Vice President in 2000 and began serving as President in 2002. Her educational accomplishments are a B.A. in Business Administration from Davenport Business College, Business Administration achieved in 1996 and a CDA (Childhood Development Associate) from Lansing Community College earned Early Childhood Development in1989. She also holds a CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) certification.

Her experience includes leadership development in serving for five years on the Ingham County Waste Management Planning Committee; one year as chair of the Tri-County Waste to Energy subcommittee; three years as board member (1 year chair) of St. Mary’s Catholic Education Commission; one year as board member of Lansing Catholic Central; twelve years as Vice President of the Williamston Alumni High School Association; ten years serving as Board of Review member for Wheatfield Township; six years as instructor for Williamston Community Education; twelve years as leader, trainer and Service Unit Director for Girl Scouts; four years as American Red Cross trainer; two years as Wheatfield Township Clerk; created the St. Mary’s Youth Commission; and served as planning member of many other community projects.

She is also a member of Michigan Society of Association Executives, National Association for the Education of Young Children, Meeting Professional International, Society of Government Meeting Professionals, and Michigan Association for Adult Continuing Education.
